My wife and I moved to Denver in 2013, and bought our first house in the Sunnyside neighborhood. Here in Denver we also became foster parents, adopted our son, and had our daughter.
In addition to serving as a Denver County foster parent with multiple placements over the past three years, I have been active on the Sunnyside Regional Neighborhood Organization. As a member of the Planning and Community Development Committee, I have worked to help increase housing supply while preserving the character of our neighborhood.
Before Denver, I lived in Palo Alto, CA, Washington, DC, central Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia suburbs, New York City, and Kingston, Jamaica. I was born in Kingston and lived there until I was 12 years old.
I went to high school outside Philadelphia, college at Penn State, and Stanford University for graduate school. I received my Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford in March 2009. From 2009 to 2011 I was a Policy Fellow at the Environmental Protection Agency. Since January 2012, I have worked at various software companies.
My diverse experience–in academia, private sector, federal policy, local governance, plus extensive experience with a city agency (Human Services)–makes me supremely qualified to serve you on the Council.
